Documents relating to the Wirral cable
In July 2013 a public local inquiry was held to consider the compulsory purchase order (CPO) process in respect of our preferred route for the cable. The Department of Energy and Climate Change has now confirmed the CPO, giving us permission to install the cable.
The Western Link project will transmit 2,200 MW of power, sufficient electricity to meet the needs of around 2m people, or a city four times the size of Liverpool.
